Leaders, Managers, Teams

Helping you and your Teams Navigate to More Effective Impact, Influence and Collaboration

Most of us go to work to do a good job. However, as the organisation grows and the volume of deliverables increase, this ability gets hampered. If people are not clearly aligned and conversations are not open, then egos start to prevail, silos begin to form and office politics can dominate team cultures.

So how do you create a healthy, resilient culture? How do you increase trust in a team, empower your colleagues to manage performance (and hold each other to account!) and increase the confidence of your key people?

Of course, as a leader, your part in defining a new culture remains critical. You are consciously watched and unconsciously role-modelled all of the time! Being aware of your own patterns and tendencies that contribute to the existing culture is the first step to making changes to a culture that better works for the organisation.

what we do

  • 1:1 Coaching

    We all have patterns of how we react to things. Some of these serve us well, but some don’t – and everyone struggles with relationships at some point. During our work together you will gain an increased self-awareness so that you have greater choice when it comes to those unconscious, unhelpful patterns, and greater clarity when appreciating your strengths. The benefit might be a better relationship with yourself, and therefore greater self-confidence, or it might be having wider strategies to influence stakeholders, including managing their performance. The outcome is to leave you with a feeling of being more in control to achieve your goals and ambitions.

  • Team coaching

    Why would you want one of these?

    • You want to boost employee wellbeing and increase the sense of belonging in your company;
    • The culture is already established but is NOT where you want it to be – there is drama, gossip and toxicity that is impacting performance and increasing staff attrition; As a senior leader, you are the one who is defining the culture of the organisation or team you are leading – so if you are wanting change in the organisation, you will also need to partake in the fun!
    • Your team are quite new, so this is an excellent opportunity to bring people together; get to understand each other, and start thinking about the culture you want to define in the organisation. This will include generating conflict competence – an ability to engage with conflict in a way that is open and respectful;
    • You need to get a team together very quickly for a particular project, or bid, and everyone needs to be performing to a high standard in no time at all – eek!
    • Or maybe you just want it all?

    I love bringing people together and developing them as a team. Contact me about how I might be able to help!

  • Working with teams in Conflict

    Staff turnover is the single biggest expense, with nearly half a million workers resigning every year over disputes, according to the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service -ACAS (May 2021) That Workplace conflict is costing UK employers £28.5bn a year, with experts warning an increase in remote working could make disputes between staff harder to manage.

    If you want a better culture in your organisation or have conflict in your team which is starting to put a dent in your revenue, is it not worth one phone call to find out more?

    I could be saving you an absolute fortune.

  • Working with Neurodiverse Leaders

    Ever thought that a high performer in your team who is just a touch 'geeky' or 'socially clunky' or let's face it – downright rude – could be neurodiverse? Being neurodivergent(ND) means having a brain that works differently from the average or “neurotypical (NT)” personND leaders have unique perspectives and strengths, but they may face challenges in navigating social norms and communication styles that are geared toward NT individuals. However, we all need to connect sometimes, and someone who is Autistic, has ADHD, dyslexia, Tourettes, etc, doesn't necessarily connect in the same way as NT people – in fact, it can be quite overwhelming for them, which is why they often prefer working alone.

    As a NT coach who has first-hand experience of dealing with autism, having an autistic son, I have a good understanding of the struggles: sensory overload; lack of eye contact; struggle with change; social isolation; and potential workplace bullying. Of course, as NTs we need to have an open mind about how we accommodate diverse strengths in all individuals. My area of specialism is in helping people who are neurodiverse connect more comfortably with those who are neurotypical.

What our Clients Say

  • Me and my partner did a six-week stint of relationship counselling with Alison. As a man I was doubtful that anything would work but was willing to give it a try. Despite my skepticism, Alison was reassuring and compassionate with large amounts of knowledge and experience. She helped us with coping mechanisms which has enabled me and my partner to communicate and reconnect once again. Would highly recommend Alison to anyone in need of gaining that spark back. Thank you!

    Daniel Martin
  • It’s obvious to me that what we’re currently experiencing will not be a constant but feel confident that we now possess the basic (at least) tools to carry on coming together whilst learning from, and growing together as life partners. I will miss our sessions as I (sort of) enjoyed the safety of experiencing uncomfortable growth - it actually felt a bit magical.

    Daniel Scrivener
  • Working with Alison has been very helpful. My partner and I only had a couple of sessions but it has made a huge difference and really helped us improve our communication. Going into counselling can be daunting but right from the start Alison put us at ease and helped us feel comfortable to open up. Thank you so much Alison, we would definitely come back again if we felt we needed a top up!

  • I’ve just spent the last 2 days with Alison leading and facilitating Leadership Training. I’ve taken away several learnings that will enable to improve as a leader. She’s an excellent listener and had several models and structure to help manage situations in a positive manner. She is a first class coach and I highly recommend Alison for executive coaching.

    Gordon Rayment. Commercial Finance Manager, Elysium Healthcare
  • Critically, the conversations we had about the ‘relationship I have with myself’ helped me challenge some unhelpful assumptions which were holding me back. Alison’s skill is to navigate conflict, connection and collaboration and help individuals develop confidence to know their strengths, work out how to accentuate them and increase their influence and impact within and outside of an organisation.

    Dan Newton. Senior Leader in Sport.
  • Alison coached me for 2 years. During this time I learned a lot and improved in a number of areas. Alison is a great listener and always has an informative model to help structure thinking and learning. A brilliant coach and now a good friend I highly recommend Alison for executive coaching.
